1. Rubber tracks and chassis
Rubber tracks on small
excavators, unlike steel rails on larger machines, are suitable for grass and driveways. Many times, users don't check the wear of rubber tracks up close, just like steel rails.
As a result, only the wear of the rubber track was observed, and in the case of not seeing a lot of wear on the sprocket and idler, the use of cracks on the rubber track and the wear on the edge could be estimated, like looking at the tire when the tire is worn. Same pattern.
Due to the different use methods and soil conditions, the service life of rubber tracks is also very different. In general, its average life span is about 2,000 hours. However, if you work in a rocky or wear-prone environment, the service life will be halved. On the contrary, in a better environment, working life will be doubled.
When the user checks the track and chassis, don't forget to drive again to check the oil level and cleanliness. This part is easily overlooked and usually leaves little oil. If the amount of oil is already low and there is water or something, then it will cause more trouble.
2. Be wary of welding on the car body
Take a close look at the cracks on the
excavator and the weld marks left by the original manufacturing. These things show that the machine has been overused.
Another good method is to use a straight board on the back arm and glue it to see if there are any misalignments or deformations.
Pay special attention to additional plate repairs. There may be some scratches and dents on the phone, but if there are too many patches on the machine, it could mean that the device has been in use for a long time.
